At MotherWise we are committed to protecting the safety, health, and well-being of our staff and participants. To uphold this ideal, we have established a collaborative harm-reduction drug and alcohol policy.
We understand that people are in different stages of their recovery or substance use journey. We understand that sobriety is not everyone’s end goal. In order to provide a safe space for everyone, we ask that you keep in mind that others may be in recovery and would be triggered by drug use around them.
We ask that you:
If you are not able to refrain from substance use during class:
Please keep in mind that MotherWise employees are mandated reporters, and if you are a danger to yourself or others, including children, then we will have to go through the proper channels to make sure everyone stays safe. You will be made aware of any referrals made or cases that are opened.
MotherWise can provide support and resources. We can connect you to your Family Support Coordinator if you have any questions, concerns, or would like more information. Some resources to consider:
Cultura Cura Belly from Elephant Circle- provides peer support around substance use during pregnancy. https://www.elephantcircle.net/cultura-cura-belly
Tough as a Mother – provides support groups for mothers dealing with addiction and substance use https://www.toughasamother.org/
At MotherWise we are committed to empowering women and their families to thrive. We recognize there are many individuals with small businesses and support their efforts to grow their customer base and become successful entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, due to liability issues, we are unable to endorse or promote specific businesses and have established a policy related to the buying and selling of goods and services from a participant or staff member associated with the MotherWise program. This policy also includes staff attendance at personal events.
Per this policy:
· Staff members may not attend any personal event invited by a participant (ex: baby showers, graduations, weddings, etc.)
· Participants may not not sell or buy any items (ex: food, personal items from a small business, etc.) directly from participants
MotherWise can still help provide support and resources as a part of our program. Please speak to your Family Support Coordinator if you have any questions, concerns, or would like more information about this policy.
*MotherWise reserves the right to make exceptions to the above policy
At MotherWise, we prioritize the privacy and security of our participants' information. We understand the importance of your personal data and are dedicated to protecting it with the utmost care.
Participant information will never be sold, traded, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
